Overview:
The Assistant Data Scientist will have the exciting opportunity to respond to emerging requests for analyses from criminal justice agencies within the project’s scope of work. In collaboration with their manager, they will determine the best role for the Data Scientist Assistant on these requests as they arise, providing a dynamic and challenging environment for professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Managing large databases
- Designing and maintaining data processing programs/systems
- Developing program code for data management
- Performing statistical analyses
- Preparing tables and figures for presentation
- Explaining analysis results
- Assisting in the preparations of reports
-Coordinating with other members of project teams
- Preparing data to make dashboards and interactive maps
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Sciences, Data Science, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, or similar quantitative fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expertise in programming in R
- Proficiency in preparing data sets (extract, join, subset, concatenate, transform, etc.) for statistical analysis
- Experience working with administrative or observational data
