Join our team at the NEXUS facility! We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides minor health care services to clients housed at NEXUS.
Essential Functions:
1. Conducts daily sick calls.
2. Examines family members and provides treatments or medications for minor ailments.
3. Refers serious or questionable medical problems to physician.
4. Examines all newly committed family members for indications of communicable disease and physical disabilities.
5. Orders x-rays and immunizations as needed.
6. Maintains family member medical records and schedules periodic/regular examinations.
7. Reviews and Implements CCCS, Inc. health care policies and procedures including, but not limited to the management, distribution, and record audits of family member pharmaceuticals.
8. Renders first aid as required.
9. Supervises the LPN via employee evaluations and review of work product.
10. Demonstrates knowledge & responsibility in performance of duties as prescribed by facility procedures. Has an understanding of the addiction process.
Other Job Functions:
All other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator of NEXUS.
Required Annual Training:
Employees new to CCCS, Inc. are required to complete at least forty (40) hours of training relevant to their position during the first year of employment. The Registered Nurse is required to complete at least sixteen (16) hours of training during each year of employment. Additional training hours may be required for disciplinary, emergency, or program-need reasons as determined by the Program Administrator.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are inside in a climate-controlled environment with occasional background noise. Occasional travel may be required.
Considerable documentation and paperwork requirements exist. The Registered Nurse must be able to organize and manage time effectively and manage multiple tasks.
Material and Equipment Used:
Computer; telephone; printer; copy machine, fax machine; general office supplies; and nursing tools.
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions:
Approximately 50% of time is spent seated while working at a desk or in meetings. Balance of time (approximately 50%) is spent standing or moving around working areas and outside locations.
: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for interaction with the public, contacts, and co-workers.
Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for effective use of computer screens.
Good manual dexterity for computer keyboard use and the ability to retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies.

1. Medical knowledge as required by State Licensing Board.

5. Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
6. Physically able to handle demands of patient services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and four years of registered nursing experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Must possess a state license to practice as a professional nurse. Must successfully pass security background investigation.
