The work is in support of the Chief Systems Engineer/Assistant Program Manager Engineering, subordinate Assistant Program Manager Systems Engineers (APMSEs) or Division/Branch Heads and their subordinates by providing multi-discipline research and development, integrated technical baseline development and evaluation, engineering assessment of the programs’ progress towards demonstrating and confirming completion of required developmental tasks and confidence that the technical baseline is mature enough for the next stage of development. Systems engineering support will include an overall technical assessment of cost, schedule, emerging technology, and maturity of design in support of the acquisition programs.
Senior: Provides high-level subject matter expertise, analysis, and technical guidance to support
project execution, business and technical operations, strategic initiatives, workforce development,
business improvement, or as required to support exceptionally complex technical and organizational
tasks. Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and
operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation,
training, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that require expert level
knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Leads the execution of complex tasks.
Performs comprehensive analyses of hardware/software concepts, designs, and test requirements.
Reviews, analyzes, integrates, and conducts test and evaluation of contractor or Government-generated
source data and develops interim documentation. Performs system concept formulation, system design
analysis, and subsystems design analysis. May work on special problem areas to make
recommendations; administers complex areas of the network, security analysis, and planning.

Education: Position requires a Management, Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an
accredited college or university. ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: A Business, Management,
Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional
four (4) years of recent and relevant experience may be substituted from a MS or MA degree. These
four (4) years of experience are in addition to the required minimum of ten (10) years to meet the
“Experience” requirements below, requiring a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
Experience: At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering or operations
analysis position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Demonstrated
experience in area of engineering expertise is required.
