JOB TITLE: Accountant (REMOTE) – Full Time Position, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Controller
JOB SUMMARY:
Accountant responsibilities include daily accounting tasks including, but not limited to, management of AP and AR, collections, reconciliation of bank statements, preparation and entry of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and general HR admin tasks. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
● Maintain and update accounting records and files
● Reconcile bank and credit card statements
● Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
● Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
● Conduct month-end and year-end closures
● Analyze monthly financial statements as related to plan and forecast
● Provide administrative support related to documentation processes and systems
● Ensure accurate and timely input of database entries and implement a self-auditing
system to verify one’s own work
● Create and maintain document templates
● Work with a variety of internal teams as needed
● Create efficiencies and improvement to financial processes
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
● Have an Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
● Accounting Information system knowledge
● Experience using spreadsheets
● Experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office
● Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently handle multiple
priorities simultaneously
● Must have at least 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
● Preferred but not required:
● Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
● SalesForce experience
● Insurance claim experience
