Staff Accountant Job Description
Job Title: Staff Accountant
Department: Finance/Accounting
Reports To: CFO
Location: Fletcher NC
Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and performing various accounting tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The Staff Accountant will assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded and documented appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned
Reconciliation and Analysis:
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.

Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate and distribute financial reports to management as required.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Other duties as assigned
Compliance and Audits:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Prepare and send customer invoices as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Payroll Support:
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of payroll transactions.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts.
- Other duties as assigned
Special Projects and Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● Experience:
- 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is a plus.
● Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
● Environment: Office setting.
● Hours: Full-time, typically Monday to Friday.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to sit for extended periods and use office equipment, such as computers, calculators, and phones.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
