The Human Resource Assistant reports to the Director of HR and will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of Equality Charter School’s Human Resources Department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Completes day-to-day data entry processes of the HR system. Ensures 100% accuracy in all data entered into the system, and ensures compliance with existing standard operating procedures.

Supports the documentation processes for all employee data related to hiring, changes during employment and termination of employment. Ensures that proper approvals are received for all changes and that all benefit eligibility changes are processed correctly.

Provides support for the human resources administration and system processes of the Human Resources department, including working with employees to resolve system issues, resolving issues with outside vendors, and updating communication information for employees.

Completes the entry of mass data projects, ensuring that all records are properly updated.

Audits benefit and payroll information within the system, and refers issues to the proper parties for resolution. Ensures that payroll information is processed at the highest level of accuracy.

Assists with the semi-monthly payroll pre-check.

Assists with reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual audits.

Updates security profiles within the HR system, ensures that all security access is kept up to date for individuals, and is updated accordingly as positions change.

Provides support for processing of HR functions in the online environment, including annual goal setting, teacher observation, evaluation, recruitment, onboarding and position management.

Completes and submits paperwork for unemployment claims.

Assigns virtual training through Vector Training platform for compliance and development training for user issues, basic troubleshooting, reporting and launching course assignments as needed.

Assists with updating and maintaining all standard operating procedures (SOP) for processes as they pertain to HRIS & HR Operations and Administration.

Performs Human Resources special projects as assigned.

Coordinates and assists with archiving of employee files for terminated employees. Conducts bi-annual purging of existing paper files in compliance

Completes Human Resources special projects as assigned.

Handles all filing for employee HR files, confidential benefits and medical files.

Any and all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or significant work experience in lieu thereof.
Experience:
-
One (1) to two (2) years of HR experience in an office setting required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
At least two years of experience in Human Resources in a charter school setting is a huge plus

HR Related professional certification preferred.

Working knowledge of HR systems, HR administration and benefits strongly desired.

Experience with an internet-based Human Resources system strongly desired.

Working knowledge of ADP.

Must have an intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel, and experience with developing reports.

Strong administrative experience with exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to organize the work of others.

Demonstrated capability in both oral and written communications.

Ability to take copious notes and transcribe / prepare documents on the fly.

Strong computer experience required which must include abilities to work effectively with MS Office suite products i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
WORKING CONDITIONS
-
Regular work requires use of a computer and the ability to travel between all three Equality Charter School schools located in the Bronx with ability to work remotely as needed/scheduled
SALARY
-
55k-58k -salary determination will be based on combination of experience, skills and qualifications.
