Field Service Technician
We are currently looking for a Field Service Technician to oversee our customers in the Mid-West/West Coast areas.
Summary:
Visit field sites to complete start up or service existing dehumidification systems to ensure that the product meets design criteria and customer expectations. Including technical training on the unit, diagnosis of a problem, resolution of the problem, or identification of how (and whom) to resolve it.
Position Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Prepare for on-site commissioning/start-up and repairs by examining unit design, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating site work schedule.
- Perform start-up / service duties, and ensure the product meets the specifications of the project and the expectations of the customer
- Willing to travel and work independently in the field - willing to perform in a position that requires overnight travel 80% of the time. Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.
- Complete required documentation / field report(s) on each startup, service, and warranty call. Include photos which document the situation when possible.
- Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed.
- Diagnose and repair units using hand-tools; follow blueprints or engineering specifications; inspect and maintain company tools and test equipment.
- Make good use of company assets, including expenses to travel. Prepare travel authorization forms and expense reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manage customer related issues on assigned projects to guarantee highest levels of customer satisfaction and meet overall project or task objectives.
- Provide back up telephone support to customers’ technical needs when available.
- Experience using electrical testing instrumentation such as multi-meters, voltmeter, manometer, dielectric tester, etc.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Requires working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, in confined spaces and possible extreme weather conditions; regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of personal auto liability insurance.
- Electrical coursework or equivalent experience is required
- Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade School is required.·
- A minimum of three years experience working with PLC / HMI systems. Familiarity with various control systems preferred.
- Prior experience as a field service technician.
- EPA certification also a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges between $30-$35/hr., and is based on experience.
