POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the strategy and sales planning for all smoked sausage meat products. Acting as an advisor to marketing and supply chain teams throughout ideation & development stages, and as a category champion with the sales teams during testing, go-to market, and long-term sales strategy planning. The Manager of Sales Strategy will work with all sales divisions and brand development teams to ensure that efforts are aligned and focused to our guidelines and category objectives, reporting to the DVP of Sales Strategy.
The position has an integral knowledge of the company’s business model and a keen understanding of our customer’s needs, which will be combined to drive the development of new initiatives, partner with other departments of the company, and spearhead the successful execution of our sales strategies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages sales strategy for existing and new product lines, identifies new distribution opportunities, and owns the testing, roll-out, and long-term sales plan for all category items
- Participates in customer presentations via web-conference or in-person when applicable and leads all in-store testing efforts for category items ensuring a successful execution with all teams involved.
- Guides trade marketing efforts in its mission to analyze sales and operations to improve overall launch success
- Identifies and develops strategic growth partnerships with retailers, brokers, sales development agencies, and distributors to lean on for insights, testing placement, and strategy execution
- Aligns objective and processes between product development, trade marketing, and sales teams
- Monitors field trends and market data regularly, identifying gaps and category segment opportunities
- Designs effective analysis methods to evaluate sales performance, identify opportunities, and propose strategy changes as needed
- Identifies new marketing/advertising ventures with compatible business to include business/food expos, convention centers, philanthropic organizations, etc.
- Leads category management efforts by offering services to accounts; e.g., manage optimal brand, product, price, and profit mix according to account’s sales data, store/area demographics, and market data
- Evaluates performance of point of sale resources and ensures harmonized and updated brand messaging across a variety of media
- Oversees the go-to-market strategy of new items and evaluates point-of-sale asset investments
- Ensures company presentations, programs and promotions are consistent with goals, strategies and policies
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent experience in related field
- 3-4 years’ of key account management experience and history of accomplishing sales goals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
