Lovell faculty create a classroom environment that facilitates learning and critical thinking and delivers innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum.RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities: -Support student learning through an innovative and interdisciplinary curriculumT-each multiple levels of high school English-Design lessons and units which incorporate the teaching objectives, materials, methods, and means of assessment used within the department-Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress-Participate in ongoing professional development-Be open to interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues and outside institutions-Be present and accessible to students and colleagues during school hoursProfessional Expectations: -Support the philosophy and mission of the school and its leadership-Maintain appropriate attendance and punctuality-Manage sensitive and confidential school, student, parent, and employee information-Appreciate and respect the role athletics play in a Lovell Academy students life and personal development-Demonstrate content knowledge and pedagogic skill relative to English instruction-Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and best practices -Use a variety of pedagogical approaches, including inquiry-based learning and project-based learning-Become involved in the school community beyond the classroom setting -Use educational technology and learning management systemsTypical work hours are limited to Monday through Friday, with additional days/hours required at times for scheduled school events and occasional supervision of students in the boarding house.
