Arlington Heights Animal Hospital is a well-established, private family-owned, AAHA accredited, 5-doctor veterinary clinic located in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district! Animal Care Attendant Job Description:
At Arlington Heights Animal Hospital, the Animal Care Attendant is an instrumental, supportive role that attributes to the overall success of our practice.
- As a Veterinary Pet Care Attendant, you will perform duties in The Retreat and clinic as defined below.
- The primary goal of this position is patient care by exhibiting overall awareness and tutelage for all pets in the animal hospital.
- Exemplify and uphold Arlington Heights Animal Hospital’s mission statement.
- Ensure efficiency and compassionate/empathetic care for clients and their pets
- Sanitizing rooms, cages, and runs for all patients and guests utilizing OSHA and AAHA standards.
- Facilitating in-door walks of all Retreat guests, medical boarders, ICU and surgery patients.
- Feeding and watering of all Retreat guests & medical boarders
- Overall hospital sanitation utilizing OSHA and AAHA standards
- Stocking entire clinic with necessary sanitation equipment and medical supplies
- Laundry, sweeping, mopping, & other cleaning duties.
- Performing daily visual exams on all guests in our care and reporting any sign of illness or concern to direct supervisor
- Performing daily responsibilities as defined on Pet Care Attendant checklist
- Performing as needed responsibilities as defined by direct supervisor, technicians, practice manager, or doctors
- Assisting technicians with patient care as needed using proper animal restraint
- Safety monitoring of our daily canine play care program
- Bathing, drying, brushing
- Marketing the practice to potential new clients by promoting hospital services.
- Work within a team of fellow Veterinary Pet Care Attendants as well as under a direct supervisor.
- Maintain and input medical records in our PM software, VIA.
- Following proper opening and closing procedures.
- Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment with awareness of overall picture at any given time.
Animal Care Attendant Qualifications
- FT and PT availability
- Serious interest in the veterinary industry
- Currently in high school or high school diploma
- Background check and drug screening required prior to employment
- Must be able to work all shifts, including rotated weekends & possible holidays
- Previous animal clinic/shelter/resort experience a plus
Animal Care Attendant Leadership & Growth Opportunities:

- ACT online training and veterinary specific in-clinic CE provided
- Consistent Annual "Stay Interviews" to assess eligibility for pay increase
