Job Title: Kennel Technician
Job Summary:
As a Kennel Technician for Elite Professional Dog Training, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and well-being of the dogs boarded at our facility. You must have a passion for working with animals, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow workflow expectations to maintain the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities:
Kennel Maintenance:
● Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, and common areas according to established procedures and schedules.
● Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, and removing waste.
● Ensure that all bedding and supplies are clean and available for use by the dogs.
● Perform regular inspections of the facility to identify and address any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
● Monitor inventory levels and report via email to the office manager to reorder weekly.
Animal Care:
● Provide basic care and attention to boarded dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed.
● Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs, reporting any concerns to the owner or onsite office manager if the owner is indisposed.
● Interact with the dogs in a positive and compassionate manner, providing enrichment activities and socialization opportunities.
Workflow Management:
● Follow established procedures and workflows to ensure efficient operations and maintain high standards of care.
● Collaborate with other team members to coordinate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
● Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
● Utilize problem-solving skills to address any issues or challenges that arise during daily operations independently.

Customer Service:
● Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
● Provide updates on the well-being and behavior of boarded dogs, ensuring transparency and peace of mind for clients.
● Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and billing.
Qualifications:
● Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or similar environment preferred.
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
● Ability to follow detailed instructions and workflows to ensure consistent and thorough care.
● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.

Working Conditions:
● This role involves exposure to animals and potential allergens.
● May require occasional weekend and holiday availability.
