BARTENDER
Department: Food and Beverage
Supervisor: Director of Food and Beverage
DUTIES: Serve guests in a gracious and professional manner; prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests; prepare beverages for beverage servers; accurately and efficiently operate cash registers/computer; insure guests do not become intoxicated by following established liquor control procedures; opening and closing side work and light sanitation of work area during and after each shift and lifting of up to 15 lbs.; insure that all cash handling procedures of beverage servers are followed according to standard operating procedures.
I. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
1. Appearance: Well groomed and pleasant, conservative hairstyle, no heavy perfume/cologne, conservative jewelry, clean hands and nails, neatly trimmed beard or mustache, if applicable.
2. Behavior: Friendly, upbeat, positive, service and team oriented, interested in job, willing to perform as requested, flexible.
3. Basic Skills: Manual dexterity, physical stamina, basic arithmetic, quickness, social awareness, dependable and follows instructions, organized.
4. Communication Skills: High degree of verbal communications, good grammar, able to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form to respond to guests.
5. Other: Honest, adaptable to change, loyal.
II. JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Previous Experience: Guest service, money handling, fast pace, and beverage recipe knowledge.
2. Special Skills: Salesmanship, handling guest complaints and special requests, attention to detail, speed, quality oriented, cost conscious, lifting heavy weights, knowledge of liquor laws and responsibilities.
3. Product Knowledge: Beverage product knowledge, portion control.
4. Other: Must be at least 21 years of age, trainable, high degree of self-assurance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.95 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
