Job description: Automation Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting automated production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and minimal downtime.
Role and Responsibilities - Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machines and equipment, including all electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
- Ensure that all required preventative maintenance activity is completed
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to detect and resolve issues with production equipment
- Maintain and update equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance records
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and production staff to identify and resolve issues with automated production equipment
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of new automated production equipment
- Adhere to all safety and quality regulations, policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of scheduled and completed work
- Report repairs that require outside contractors, to Maintenance Manager
- Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals in compliance with government regulations.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work area and assist with other facility needs as required.
- Operate a workstation as needed.
- Assist maintenance staff as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skill and Education requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in an industrial maintenance or automation program or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automation and maintenance of production equipment, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFD), and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
- Experience with robotic systems and automation controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics and blueprints
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues with production equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
- Hi-lo experience is a plus, can train on site
- Self-motivated, and the ability to work with a team
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk and/or hear.
- Must be able to examine parts and machinery using close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes, and airborne particles, cold and heat.
Shifts Available:
Afternoons 3pm-11pm
Overnights 11pm- 7am
