National Coatings is a multi-state commercial and industrial painting contractor. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in construction sub-trade operations, project management, and leadership. Job Summary:
The Vice President of Operations takes responsibility for providing strategic leadership and vision in the areas of commercial painting and project delivery. This position will ensure that consistent processes and best practices are followed throughout our projects, ensuring that contract requirements, budgets, schedules, and timelines are achieved or exceeded to provide a best-in-class experience for our clients. The Vice President of Operations will be forward-thinking, embracing new ideas and technology to elevate National Coatings and its team members to a new level of performance and execution.

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Design, develop and oversee operational policies and procedures for the Operations of the company.
· Drive sustainable growth and minimize losses by implementing proper operational procedures.
· Monitor and present Division performance and current activities to the CEO/President and CFO.
· Perform regular risk assessments of current work in progress as well as upcoming work in due diligence, preconstruction, and design phases.
· Understands accurate leading indicators, project controls, and the subsequent impact on project profitability and client relations.
· Participate in Key Pursuits as a team member as necessary.
· Demonstrate an overall high level of competency in strategic thinking, talent development, inspiring and influencing others, collaboration, situational agility, global / industry awareness, and sound judgment.
· Represent National Coatings in the community at industry events.

Supervisory Responsibility:
· This role has both direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities over General Managers, Project Managers, Estimators, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Business Development staff, Foremen, and painters.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
· Minimum of 7 years progressive experience leading a construction sub-trade operations division.
· Possesses a critical eye for continuous improvement of all operational processes..
· Holds a reputation of integrity internally and externally.
· Strong oral and written communication skills with employees, clients, suppliers and the public.
· Good computer skills including Procore, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
· Continuing education courses/certifications in areas such as Project Management, Lean Construction, and/or leading and managing people.
· 7+ years of experience in construction leadership principles and best practices, particularly with respect to lean construction, safety, environmental protection, and quality.
· Demonstrated experience guiding a Construction Operations Division to 2-5x growth.
Travel requirements:
· Out of town travel to other divisions required monthly
· All projects >$1m requires at least one visit per month
Physical requirements:
· Requires lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
· Requires periods of sitting, walking, and standing.
· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to see well (naturally or with correction).
