In this role you will:
- Carefully follow and understand all radiology policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Independently perform a wide range of ultrasound exams, such as general, vascular, and small parts in an outpatient setting
- Operate ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to examine various parts of the body such as pelvis, lower and upper abdomen (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, aorta, etc.), retroperitoneal area (kidneys, adrenals), etc.
- Perform venipuncture for laboratory collection
- Prepare patients for procedures not limited to but including: Urocuffs, Cystoscopy, Urolift, Urodynamic Studies
- Perform and document maintenance on equipment
- Prepare preliminary written impressions
- Communicate results to radiologist and MD
- Assure that all emergent tests are performed in an expedited manner
- Assist doctors with outpatient related procedures/biopsies
- Assist with Intaking patients into exam rooms
We require:
- A graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent
- Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) Certification
- Bachelors/Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- Travel to multiple Queens Offices
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Working knowledge of all basic computer applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids. Must have reliable transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Graduation from an accredited school of Ultrasonography.
- RDMS (AB) (Required) and RVT (Preferred). Additional registries may be required to obtain after hire. Sonographers must be in compliance with the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI requirements for continuing education appropriate to their practices.
- One year experience in the field of radiology.
Ranging Hours: Monday–Friday
