Prescient Technologies, a service-disabled veteran owned small business, is seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and self-motivated Lead Translator to support a government contract. Our ideal candidate will be dedicated to achieving and maintaining a high level of professionalism and will have a strong background in linguistics, cross-cultural communication, and project management.
This role involves coordinating and leading translation teams, ensuring effective communication across diverse cultural contexts, and fostering an inclusive environment.
The responsibilities of the Lead Translator include but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of translators and match requests for translation with the appropriate translator.
- Identify and anticipate recruitment needs for translation projects.
- Ensure quality assurance focused on the consistency of retained translators and reviewers.
- Provide orientation, training, and guidance to translators.
- Ensure excellent, high quality customer service and team member performance.
- Monitor successes and setbacks, resolving issues and initiating corrective actions as appropriate.
- Ensure translated materials meet requirements and compliance guidelines.
- Ensure the delivery of services is of the appropriate level of quality and meets deadlines.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of four (4) years working in language and cultural services support or in a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing teams on translation projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, Human Services, or a Language-related field required.
- Possess an understanding of plain writing guidelines and 508 compliance.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and written.
- Must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with members from a variety of backgrounds.
