1. Personnel

Hire, train, supervise, and review Contract Administrator.
2. Contract Management

Partner with operations, estimating, risk management, and project administration to review & negotiate contracts (upstream & downstream).

Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.

Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.

Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to what’s best for the company

Oversee the development of contract language to enhance the Company’s position.

Oversee the development and maintenance of the contract review and prequalification process.
3. Legal Affairs

Manage all claims in litigation to control costs without reducing the quality of service.

Advise senior management on litigation claims, strategies, and objectives.

Maintain effective client-attorney relationships.
4. Insurance

Draft project specific insurance exhibits for contracts for subcontractors and vendors.
5. Other Duties
- Create content and facilitate training to employees regarding contracts, liens, and other relevant legal topics in partnership with the Personnel Development Department.
Education: JD required.
Experience: Required 5 - 10 years’ experience with contracts (drafting, reviewing, and negotiating), claims and litigation; preferably in the construction industry.
Skills: Extensive knowledge of construction contract terms & conditions. Strong negotiating skills, proven ability to maintain confidentiality, handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and have a customer service attitude.
Physical: Includes sitting, standing, reaching, walking; use of hands, arms, legs, and feet. Must be able to see and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.
Communication: Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with customers, vendors and employees.
Computer: Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with Bluebeam and Smartsheet preferred.
Provide legal services on all company contracts (including but not limited to review and negotiation), claims, and litigation matters while conducting yourself in a manner consistent with KHS&S core ideology.
