Additional Job Description Information:
Under the general guidance of the principal investigator and senior researchers in the lab, the Research Technician will be responsible for supporting research activities in Advanced Physiological Optics Laboratory directed by Dr. Yoon at the University of Houston College of Optometry. The current projects in the laboratory focus on physiological optics, human visual perception and binocular visual functions, and myopia development and control. This position will require basic understanding of the human eye and the visual system, and have an initial appointment of 1 year that can be extended on a yearly basis depending on performance and availability of grant funding.
Qualifications
High school and 1 year experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Well-qualified candidates will have the following qualifications/ experience: Prior experience in human vision, optometry and visual psychophysics is preferred. Additional skill sets that are not required, but advantageous include: experience with Matlab and other data analysis software.
