Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a Residential Property Accountant for our client, a reputable real estate firm located in New York, NY 10065. This position is an immediate, full-time, on-site, temp-to-hire position!
The ideal candidate for the Residential Property Accountant will have 3+ years of residential property accounting experience and proficiency in MRI/Avid. Experience with condos and co-ops is a significant plus.
Job Title: Residential Property Accountant
Hours: 9am - 5pm (40 hour work week)
Pay Rate: $40/hr - $50/hr
Responsibilities:

Perform bank reconciliations (operating, reserve, money market, brokerage, and security deposit).

Analyze Budget Variance Report for assigned properties.

Review General Ledger and make necessary reclassifications.

Perform quarterly accruals and consolidation for select Buildings

Prepare and reconcile summary cash position reports.

Prepare monthly management statements for Account Executive’s review

Transact and record transfers between Bank Accounts

Perform various Treasury functions
-
Pay Real Estate Taxes on a Quarterly & Semi-annual basis

Coordinate year-end audits with Building Accountants
-
Record building mortgage expense in MRI

Initiate wire transfers for approval and release.

Prepare and Analyze Fiscal and Calendar year-end Budgets

Pay quarterly and semi-annual real estate taxes and record them in MRI.

Prepare sales tax returns
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.

Prior experience in the real estate industry with Coops and Condos

Experience with MRI property management software.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Intermediate to Advanced Excel
