The Medical Scribe position is for two Physician's in a private practice clinic.
This position is M-F, working between 4 to 7 hours each day.
The Medical Scribe is a paraprofessional who acts as a personal assistant to a Physician and collects information from patients in real-time during their visits. Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system
- Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation
- Working with the Physician to complete and submit medical records
- Communicating with patients and Physician professionally
- Completing all administrative tasks efficiently
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Terminology
Basic computer and word-processing skills
Recognition of the physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.
Organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 32 per week
