The Opportunity:
Precious Plate is hiring a Facilities Assistant to join our team. As a Facilities Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Department with various administrative duties in order to maintain the facility, equipment, and documents in an organized and efficient manner. This is a full-time position, working from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, reporting to the Facilities Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Continuously update maintenance records and requests in the existing database
-File and maintain records in accordance with company guidelines and procedures
-Input data into various spreadsheets, maintenance logs, and reports
-Drive company vehicle to various locations to pick up / drop off supplies as needed by maintenance staff
-Report accidents, violations of policies, safety hazards, or any unfamiliar incident to the Facilities Manager
-Schedule various maintenance vendor appointments
-Perform a variety of other clerical duties to support the Main Office and Receptionist
-Support the Facilities Manager with the review and processing of weekly time cards for Maintenance employees
-Support company goals and objectives
-Follow all safety rules and regulations
-Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Minimum high school graduate or equivalent
-Minimum 2 years previous office experience required
-Demonstrated skills using MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel), facsimile, and copiers
-Strong organizational skills and proper phone etiquette
-Ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal and written instructions
-Ability to identify and communicate maintenance needs to supervisors
-Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
-Ability to work independently and perform cooperatively with others
-Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
-Ability to sit for long periods and work extensively with a computer; occasionally will be required to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
-Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and clean driving record
Working Conditions:
-Occasionally works around chemical solutions
-Safety glasses, steel or composite toe boots, and hearing protection may be required at times
-Could be exposed to background noise, odors, or dust
