The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of a Support Services Specialist. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Lottery and Charitable Games (OLCG), Office of Resources Management. The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing a variety of extensive support service functions such as: space management, property management, supply management, inventory management; publishing service, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance; records retention and disposition; and transportation. In addition, duties include but are not limited to:
- Serving as the liaison with the building owner to ensure facilities operations are managed in accordance with rules, regulations and contractual requirements
- Overseeing construction/renovation of work spaces, including developing and implementing plans for individual work stations and changes in office layouts
- Coordinating with appropriate staff to facilitate moves (e.g. arrange appointments, plans for materials needed to perform job)
- Inspecting contractors work' for compliance with specifications or standards
- Providing support services to the Sales and Marketing team for special events, to include planning and coordinating logistical actions
- Providing acquisition and logistical support for Lottery's fleet; inventory and other support services
- Conducting market research, analysis of alternatives and cost benefit estimates to determine the most cost-effective leasing and/or purchasing options
- Maintaining a database of such assets and providing status reports as requested
- Arranging for and/or provides transportation to designated staff for essential government business
- Scheduling transportation and ensures that vehicles are prepared for use
- Monitoring and keeping record of government vehicles' usage and developing reports as necessary
- Processing agency mail, special packages and other forms of written or printed communications
- Preparing routine, monthly and yearly reports for review by management officials
- Performing routine maintenance on multi-functional machines, monitors service logs and request repairs
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Two (2) years of progressive work experience performing duties related to support service functions such as maintaining facility operations; managing departmental inventory, records, property and transportation services; processing mail, preparing and maintaining reports. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and possess a valid driver's license.
