Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager will oversee all aspects of transportation and logistics operations for their assigned team, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across borders. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring key performance indicators, and staying informed about industry trends.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation routes and maximize efficiency in cross-border operations.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods while adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and customs agents to negotiate rates and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational performance.
- Oversee the scheduling and maintenance of company vehicles to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to transportation and logistics.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics, with a proven track record of success in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of cross-border shipping regulations, customs procedures, and international trade agreements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCMP, CSCP) is a plus.
