Job Title: Behavior Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide behavioral therapy services to individuals, focusing on patient care and promoting behavioral health. As a Behavior Technician, you will work with individuals, particularly children with autism, assisting in implementing behavior intervention plans and documenting progress. Your role will involve maintaining medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and collaborating with a team of professionals to support the well-being of clients.
We have positions available primarily in the after school and weekend hours. If you are looking for part-time or contract work this is for you!
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions to individuals based on their specific needs
- Document client progress and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with caregivers and other professionals to ensure consistency in treatment strategies
- Assist in teaching new skills and behaviors to individuals
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors
- Monitor and report any changes or concerns in client behavior to the supervising BCBA
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Skills:
- Proficiency in behavioral therapy techniques
- Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and compassion
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
- Experience working with individuals in behavioral health or special education settings
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices
- Ability to work effectively with children, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with clients, caregivers, and colleagues
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes
- Ability to adapt interventions based on individual needs
- Comfortable working with a diverse range of people, including those with challenging behaviors
