Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support of small legal department within large real estate conglomerate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain attorney calendars.
· E-file documents in State and Federal court.
· Generate and process legal bills.
· Maintain legal files and archive.
· Communicate with process servers and Marshal/Sheriff’s office.
· Prepare and mail legal notices, affidavits and other documents from internal templates.
· Other administrative support as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
· At least 1 year of relevant experience in an office environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products/software.
· Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
· At least 1 year of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
· Paralegal training or certificate.
· Spanish, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to at least 10 pounds.
· Must be able to sit at a desk answering calls, and typing for long periods.
· Must be able to observe details at close range (i.e. when typing, and reading).
· Must be able to walk about the office frequently to confer with the attorneys.
