The HR Generalist will be responsible for covering a true generalist’s scope of operational responsibilities. This HR Generalist will have a heavy focus on employee relations and supporting investigations. The HR Generalist will often work independently but will also regularly collaborate with other members of the HR department. The ideal HR Generalist for this position will have 6+ years of HR experience, align with the organization’s mission, and be a self-starter!
- Manage a generalist scope of HR responsibilities including benefits, leaves, employee relations, investigations, performance management, employee engagement activities, training and development, and compliance.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Regularly partner with leaders on recruitment needs and hiring plans.
- Guide leaders on performance management and performance improvement plans.
- Process employee paperwork including background checks.
- Plan and lead new hire orientations.
- Oversee the onboarding process.
- Work alongside the HR Benefits Manager to execute benefits administration.
- Answer employees’ questions regarding HR matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Review and update policies and practices regularly.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, employment law, etc.
- Support ad hoc projects as needed.
- 6+ years of generalist HR experience.
- Strong employee relations experience and exposure to investigations.
- Working knowledge of FMLAs and all other types of leaves/LOAs.
- Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
