Responsible for assisting the County Park Superintendent in providing quality outdoor opportunities and experiences for citizens and surrounding communities through the operation and maintenance of the County Parks Department. Duties of the classification involve assisting in managing and supervising the daily operations and personnel of all parks and other recreational facilities, developing plans for the improvement/development of existing parks and other recreational facilities, operating and maintaining park equipment, maintaining grounds, buildings and facilities, collecting fees, enforcing park ordinances and communicating with the public regarding park services and educational programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Technical or Vocational degree from an accredited college in Natural Resources, Park Management, Recreation, Small Engines or a related field; (1) year of related experience in building maintenance and grounds keeping; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid CDL (Class B, with tanker “N” endorsement) Obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Natural Resources, Park Management, Recreation or a related field; two years of experience in park facilities, services, planning, management, and improvement of parks. Pesticide Applicators License.
