Position Title: Family and Child Case Manager
Status: Full-Time/Salary
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
College degree or its equivalent through some combination of formal education, work and life experiences (3 to 5 years). Must possess personal qualities of patience and empathy. Must be flexible and work as a team player. Must be oriented toward developing the potential of victims of domestic violence and their children.
General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of victim Services, the Family/Child Case Manager will be responsible for developing and coordinating all aspects of the children’s program and assisting with casework for adult clients. Must work together to share information with other advocates to better help our clients resolve conflict and work towards self-sufficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Conduct children’s groups on a weekly basis. Keep materials and supplies updated.
· Conduct parent-child interaction groups assisting with discipline and parenting skills.
· Register children in school and communicate regularly with school personnel. Work with Stuart McKinney Act-school liaison to meet the needs of sheltered children.
· Purchase needed school supplies.
· Meet with community agencies to represent child’s best interests.
· Provide individual counseling for the child and the parent.
· Coordinate tutorial program.
· Coordinate the volunteers and interns who work within the children program.
· Coordinate regular enrichment activities for the children during the summer and school breaks.
· Make referrals as needed to other agencies concerning the children and their parents.
· Assist parents and children when applying for local social services benefits. (Paperwork, phone calls, transportation)
· Responsible for care of playground and play area equipment.
· Maintain children’s display in designated area.
· Community outreach, speaking to groups in the community about children and the effects of domestic violence. Explain services and needs of the program.
· Provide transportation when needed to clients.
· Monitor and restock Childrens welcome bags.
· Make arrangements for children to receive clothing when needed.
· Administer the Homeless Grant and the childcare of Homeless Children Grant and assist with grant writing.
· Hold monthly fire drill.
· Attend staff meetings.
· Responsible for documenting consistently, completing all relevant forms including intakes, assessments, case management notes, quarterly and monthly grant reports.
· Responsible for ensuring all clients’ files are complete, current, accurate and meet the requirements of all monitoring agencies.
· Responsible for ensuring files are securely maintained.
· Participate in emergency room accompaniment monthly calendar.
· Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Victim Services.

responsibility and to make sound judgments within existing
laws, policies, and regulations.

with children, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies
and programs.
13. Ability to plan daily activities to achieve identified goals.
14. Ability to independently problem solve and provide guidance to
other team members.

Job Type: Full-time
