Maintenance Technician
Jedco Inc., a leading supplier of precision components to the aerospace and defense industry, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform various general maintenance activities including electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, carpentry, HVAC and other facility/grounds activities
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical equipment in a timely manner, including TIG welders, Resistance welders, Presses, Manual machining equipment, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively within the team and to management.
- Ability to adapt to handle multiple assignments and projects and work to complete within specified timeframe.
- Full understanding of the mechanical aspects of CNC.
- Working knowledge in machine repair for CNC mills, lathes, etc.
- Capable of electronic repair down to the component, Servo tuning, parameter adjustments, and strong troubleshooting skills on MAZAK controls.
- Machine Tool Controls. Servo & Spindle Drive Systems. CNC Machine Tool Systems. Electronic/ Electrical/PLC systems. Pneumatic/Hydraulic Systems. Mechanical Motion Systems (spindles, linear guides, boxed & rotary).
- Analyzing malfunctions, maintaining and repairing CNC machines
- Dismantling and reassembling equipment to examine parts for damage or excessive wear
- Basic fabrication, welding, and machining skills are needed.
- Drive common vehicles – forklifts, man lifts, cargo vans, trucks, etc
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical and electronic in-house equipment including battery back-up maintenance, lighting and fire systems.
- Modify equipment as required..
- Repair and maintain all air handling and pressure systems relating to electrical and/or electro-mechanical problems and all other equipment modifications, as needed.
- Repair or relocate any in-house data communication and audio systems.
- Communicate with manufacturer or service house for modification or repair of equipment as needed.
- Procure electrical, electro-mechanical and electronic supplies as required for inventory or repair.
- Confers with all departments to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Performs as backup) maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This includes preventative maintenance to be implemented or monitored as required.
Skills and Job Specifications: * Ability and experience in performing regular preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Organizational skills in knowing how to set up and adhere to maintenance schedules taking full ownership in the process and completing the process in a timely manner.
- High level of experience in performing mechanical trouble shooting and repair of equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of Mazak’s, Haas, Viper, and Fanuc CNC systems.
- Ability to understand and work with programmable controllers and ladder logic systems.
- Must be able to read schematics and blueprints.
Education and Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates Degree in mechanical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in working with and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic repairs is preferred.
- Experience in programmable controls.
- Certification in pneumatics is desirable.
- Electrical certification is preferred.
