Basic Qualifications
Education/Experience: A college degree or equivalent is required. Supplemental certifications are preferred.
Skill(s): Interpersonal leadership and verbal communication skills; Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills; excellent interpersonal relations; proficient analytical and data processing skills; exceptional PC skills; detail oriented; self-motivated; the ability to motivate and mentor direct reports. Must possess excellent organizational skills along with the ability to keep good records and maintain electronic and printed documentation on all projects.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in related positions is normally required.
General Responsibilities
The IT Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the company infrastructure as it relates to technologies that are used and are critical to the business. This may include all communication equipment (phones, computers, Drivers’ Qualcomm devices, and Drive Cams), servers, printers, scanners, software as it relates to system protection, and hardware. S/he provides direction and guidance to the IT team, including motivating and mentoring all members. S/he must create and maintain documentation of all processes and protocols. S/he may serve as lead on projects designed to improve efficiencies or reduce costs as it relates to technology.
Essential Responsibilities of the IT Manager
1) Oversees all duties of the IT department and ensures that staff is competent to support information technology to meet customer needs such as:
a) Support of user systems, peripherals, phones, networks, servers used in all facets of the organization.
b) Supports all users who experience issues with usage of company systems and services.
c) Ensures all system and processes are documented to meet company needs.
2) Delegates specific work tasks with department personnel according to their abilities, in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
3) Compiles information as necessary or directed and ensures that all reports generated by the IT department are delivered as needed, or according to an established schedule.
4) Adheres to the confidentiality policy. This involves the following criteria:
a) Ensuring the confidentiality level of all projects to protect company interests. Communicate only needed information to individuals with the authority to know.
b) Maintaining and ensuring confidentiality of all electronic systems, including monitoring users’ access to files, documents, and other information.
5) Develops & maintains entire technology infrastructure to ensure all services meet desired standards of functionality, availability, & modernization.
6) Must be able to engineer solutions by evaluating products and services including an analysis of cost/benefit, and collaborating with vendors, IT staff, and other departments.
7) Oversees the security, training, standards and compliance processes and regulations as it relates to IT.
8) Must manage accounts and vendors by performing audits, negotiating contracts for services, and maintaining business partnerships.
9) Responsible for creating, administering, and maintaining a disaster recovery plan to ensure the company remains functional in the event of a crisis.
10) Determine the rationale and method for upgrading company software programs and/or peripheral equipment when there is an upgrade.
11) Receives, solicits and provides communication to and from management and ensures communication is disseminated to staff as needed.
12) Performs studies and analysis as requested; creates reports and completes special projects as assigned.
13) Conducts research and recommends the selection of IT equipment, applications, and supplies.
14) Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and within the approved budgets.
15) Must exhibit professionalism when communicating via phone, email, or in person.
