Job Title: Preschool Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate the development of young children. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a key role in implementing educational programs, fostering social skills, and promoting positive learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
Create lesson plans relating to the Creative curriculum. Ensuring the activities are developmentally appropriate, align with the curriculum and make accommodations and modifications for students of varying abilities.
-Ability to organize and reflect teaching goals and progress in documentation: lesson plans, assessments and evaluations
-Develop lesson plans and routines that are responsive to children’s strengths, interests and needs and align with the Department of Education Explorations curriculum.
-Promote activities for social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of the students.
-Must be willing to work collaboratively with the assistant teacher in the classroom
-Actively interact with and engage children, demonstrating patience and warmth in all interactions
-Maintain a clean, bright and active classroom environment.
-Collaborate with other staff members regarding lesson planning and school events.
-Collaborate with administration regarding progress, needs of children, lesson planning and school events.
-Provide information to families regarding child development and engage families in their child’s educational process

-Liaise with appropriate City agencies including DOE and DOHMH
-Participate in staff meetings, conferences and trainings
Skills:
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior
- Knowledge of early childhood education best practices
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues
