Pendleton Community Care, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Accounting Assistant who will work in direct support of the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate is team-oriented but also can work alone, self-motivated, forward thinking, with a strong emphasis to detail and the ability to independently evaluate financial activity. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
Duties
As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for performing various accounting duties to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Manage the general ledger accounting process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
-Assist with financial audits and grant compliance
- Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex accounting issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial management and decision-making processes
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Solid understanding of debits and credits, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with account reconciliation processes and techniques
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards
- Ability to provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions or issues
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel)
-Become fluent in all aspects of health center electronic applications
