The Inventory Planning & Control Manager, is responsible for compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment. This role ensures accurate inventory management and optimization by performing the following duties.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 DOE
Bonus: 10% of Base Pay
FLSA: Exempt
Work Hours: Monday-Friday (some weekends if needed depending on month-end & year-end closing)
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:

Cycle Count Program Management: Oversee the Inventory Cycle Count program for all plants, including conducting recounts and posting results into SAP as well as Quarterly Inventory Reporting for Internal/External Audit controls.

Inventory Planning: Facilitate proactive planning for optimized inventory levels.

Spare Part Stocking: Work with Product Managers to establish spare part stocking requirements.

Field Stock Consignment: Conduct quarterly confirmations of Field Stock Consignment Inventory.

Import/Export Certificates: USMCA, Affidavit of Manufacture, & Certificates of Origin
Financial Management:

Inventory Account Reconciliation: Reconcile inventory accounts to the General Ledger.

Financial Collaboration: Partner with finance during monthly close processes for inventory, manufacturing orders, and COGS.
Process Improvement and Strategy:

Process Improvement: Continuously recommend improvements to processes, products, and services.

Cost Control Strategy: Devise and implement strategies to control costs associated with inventory.
Special Projects and Collaboration:

Special Projects: Assist in special projects as assigned by the Director of Cost Accounting.

Slow Moving and Obsolete Parts Management: Collaborate with Product Managers quarterly to identify slow-moving and obsolete spare parts, facilitate reservations, and coordinate movement to third-party locations.
Forecasting and Reporting:

Forecast Development: Assist in developing inventory forecasts, control procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position manages and supervises employees in the Inventory Department across California and Texas facilities. Responsibilities include:

Directing, coordinating, and evaluating direct reports.

Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

Planning, assigning, and directing work.

Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees.

Addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from a four-year college (Required)

3-5 years of experience as an inventory planner in a manufacturing environment.

Basic understanding of supply chain concepts.

Strong proficiency in SAP.

Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given parameters, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret accounting standards, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
