Position Summary
Baptist Health Pharmacy teams are committed to ensuring the optimal, safe, and effective use of medications for all patients through advanced technology and innovative application of skilled personnel to improve clinical outcomes and community health in a value-based environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job.
· Pharmacist in Charge (KY) or Qualifying Pharmacist (IN) on the Community Pharmacy Board of Pharmacy permit
· Evaluates performance of community pharmacy personnel, providing regular counseling on performance and sharing documentation of exemplary and unsatisfactory work
· Directs the orientation, training, and continuing education of all community pharmacy staff
· Sustains professional competence and promotes development through participation in in-services, workshops, seminars, and professional organizations
· Develops and implements pharmacy services in collaboration with associated department services
· Plans expenditures according to budget guidelines and recommends resources needed for the department
· Ensures compliance with Baptist Health policies, 340B program (if applicable), accrediting bodies, REMS compliance, third party payers (including audits), and state and federal regulations
· Maintains appropriate licensure for the pharmacy
· Ensure all pharmacy staff complete annual Fraud, Waste and Abuse and HIPAA training and oversees compliance
· Ensures immunizations protocols are reviewed/updated annually and all immunizers have current training including BLS CPR certification
Minimum Education and Training
· Kentucky and/or Indiana Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
· Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
· Master in business administration (MBA) or Master in Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
· Current immunization certificate required within six months of hire
