Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthodontist to join our team. As an Orthodontist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating dental and facial irregularities to improve patients' oral health and appearance. You will work closely with patients of all ages to create personalized treatment plans and provide exceptional orthodontic care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive orthodontic evaluations, including taking X-rays, photographs, and impressions
- Diagnose dental and facial irregularities, such as misaligned teeth or jaws
- Develop customized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Install and adjust orthodontic appliances, such as braces, aligners, or retainers
- Monitor patients' progress throughout the treatment process
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide guidance on maintaining their orthodontic appliances
- Collaborate with other dental professionals, such as dentists or oral surgeons, to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in orthodontic techniques and technologies
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Proficiency in medical documentation and maintaining accurate patient records
- Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as Epic
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and assess patient comfort during procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively explain treatment plans and address patient concerns
Requirements:
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited orthodontic residency program
- Valid state dental license to practice as an Orthodontist
- Board certification by the American Board of Orthodontics is preferred but not required
