Our client is seeking a Combustion Systems Sales Engineer responsible for ongoing communication with customers and suppliers to provide technical support and product information. This position will also provide sales support, service assistance, and promotion of all combustion product lines. The position will also require the support and promotion of other product groups such as Rotating Equipment, Automation, and Engineered Solutions. The position is in Louisiana. This position is open due to the pending retirement of a long-term employee.
Responsibilities:
- Able to perform start-up and tuning work on combustion systems and fuel trains.
- Able to assist in the engineering and design of new combustion projects where needed.
- Able to train other employees in operating combustion systems and fuel trains.
- Able to troubleshoot combustion systems and fuel trains.
- Diagnose malfunctions of equipment to determine cause and appropriate corrective action.
- Competency to conduct a combustion analysis and make recommendations to optimize burner control systems.
- Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with clients and company stakeholders to build trust.
- Provide customers with information on product solutions, pricing, and availability.
- Field support at customer sites.
- Field and technical support of Relevant sales colleagues
- Utilizing engineering knowledge technically to the company products.
- Investigating customer needs and solving problems.
- Analyzing and providing appropriate alternative proposals to company sales professionals.
- Communicating via telephone, email, and virtually.
- This position will require occasional overnight travel primarily within Louisiana.
Requirements:
- Two- or four-year degree preferred; I&E/ Mechanical
- High school diploma or equivalent will be considered with acceptable level of field experience
- Functional knowledge of all Boiler Control Systems (BCS), Burner Management Systems (BMS), and Combustion Control Systems (CCS) systems
- General PLC programming knowledge.
- Experience with DCS, PLC, Honeywell 7800, and Fireye.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to interface with field and plant personnel, up to the executive level.
- Technical solution development experience.
- Team player adept at collaborating with sales support staff, manufacturer’s support staff, and other sales engineers.
- Solid work history.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sitting at a computer, in the vehicle, or in meetings.
- Primarily indoors with occasional extreme temperatures.
- Some walking will be necessary inside of plants and refineries.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle for extended travel times.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
