Summary/Objective
Our Agency works and assists in taking care of our senior citizens. A Senior Housing Coordinator contributes to our success by making sure the Agency’s finance and housing tasks are organized, efficient, and timely for all MSSS stakeholders. Along with working with the greatest generation, you’ll be making sure receivables are current and housing records are accurate and complete. Essential Functions
- Answers telephone in a courteous manner and greet visitors at the Center. Route calls to appropriate staff or department
- Prepare housing letters as needed
- Provide housing packets for qualified parties to apply for housing.
- Prep qualified housing documents for the Chief Executive Officer to review and sign
- Distribute housing marketing information such as flyers and senior newsletter to citizens and members in the Mat Su Borough
- Assist with Preparing table announcements and communicate monthly and weekly events
- Review housing applications with qualified applicants
- Record all necessary applicant information, such as names, notes, and other necessary information. Files to be stored as required by federal and state agencies
- Correspond with tenants and set appointments for yearly housing recertification.
- Make sure all housing re-certifications are completed prior to due date
- Contact prospective tenants when apartments are available
- Initiate certification process with prospective clients, prepare lease agreement, schedule to occupancy timelines
- Print monthly rent schedule for properties.
- Complete housing work orders and transfer responsibilities to the facility manager to complete. Maintain all open, closed and pending work orders
- Assist in yearly housing audit between Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and finance companies
- Reconcile and recommend resolution for report discrepancies and problems
- Coordinate and prepare pertinent information for external accounting firm and auditors.

Work Environment
This position works in a professional office environment. The position frequently uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, fax machines, scanners and other standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
This job is largely sedentary; however, filing is frequently required. This would require the ability to lift files or banker boxes up to 25 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
Travel
No travel is expected for the position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- Within three months obtain Tax Credit Specialist or Certified Occupancy Specialist certification from the National Center of Housing Management. Agency paid
- Overall business acumen in departmental operations.
Preferred Education and Experience
- At least 1 year of housing experience
- at least 1 year customer service
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Experience working for profit or non-profit
Must be able to write, read and speak English fluently
Work Authorization
Must be able to clear a State of Alaska- Barrier Crimes Unit background check
Must provide references.
