Vermont Federal Credit Union is recruiting for an Information Technology Security Analyst located at our South Burlington Operations Center.
Job Description:
- Responsible for monitoring, alerting, and reporting of all enterprise security systems and subsystems, periodically assess their efficiency to protect the Credit Union and make recommendations based upon findings.
- Keeps Security Policies and Procedures updated and accurate. Works with credit union employees to ensure compliance with all policies and information security requirements.
- In conjunction with the Systems Administration team, perform critical/important security updates and projects with minimal impact to production environment.
- Maintain tools responsible for intrusion prevention and vulnerability scanning.
- Assist with the management of security platforms, backup and recovery. Coordinate with business units to maintain and keep disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the organization up to date.
- Coordinate third party vendor security and vulnerability assessments. Perform assessments of security/risk posture within the IT network. Ensure vendor/risk assessment compliance.
- Plan and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data from cybersecurity attacks and prevent data breaches. Perform penetration testing as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with FFIEC and NCUA Cybersecurity requirements and regulations.
- Stay current on IT security trends and news. Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
Requirements:
- Experience with security controls such as web filters, proxies, intrusion prevention, incident response, antivirus or next-gen antimalware solutions, vulnerability scanners, security frameworks, security events log monitoring, encryption, patch management, and computer forensics.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact, communicating, and coordinating updates appropriately.
- Proficient with cybersecurity tools related to penetration testing and/or digital forensics.
- Ability to interpret syslog data and correlate events.
- Work with IT Management on annual security budget.
- Three to five years of similar or related experience preferred.
