Overview:
Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) is actively establishing a detachment in Guam (NAVSHIPYD & IMF DET GUAM). This key industrial site supports a broad spectrum of naval vessel/submarine maintenance, overhaul, and repair activities. The purpose of this contract is to provide project planning, execution and support services in Code 200, Engineering and Planning Department (EPD), and other support departments to support ship systems maintenance, repair and testing during availabilities at NAVSHIPYD & IMF DET GUAM. Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking an experienced Senior Supply Specialist to serve as the lead to ensure the efficient management and delivery of essential materials for ship repair and maintenance projects.. This individual would also assist with the overall support of project planning/management/testing, estimating, and specification writing for critical U.S. Navy ship systems.
Responsibilities: Material Planning/Coordination & Quality/Compliance
- Provide timely identification, ordering, and delivery of materials and services, adapting to changing schedules to support both major and minor availabilities, and SHIPALTs.
- Review and process Job Material Lists (JMLs) for ordering alteration materials, including long-lead time and stock available materials.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Planning Department codes to ensure JMLs are technically complete and accurate.
- Coordinate and track project alteration material status with the Material Response Team.
- Ensure all required materials, both non-nuclear and nuclear, are ordered and accurately tracked.
- Communicate deficiencies to the SHIPALT Coordinator for timely resolution.
- Review JMLs in active status and route to appropriate personnel based on job/material type.
- Validate the accuracy of material orders against technical drawings and inspection requirements.
- Process non-standard items requiring special handling or documentation.
- Manage communication and processes related to material delivery statuses, including addressing backorders and delays.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Secret Security Clearance
- 10+ years of experience supporting supply chain management, material planning, and/or logistics for U.S. Navy shipboard systems.
- Proven expertise in project planning/management/testing, estimating, and specification writing for Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, and Combat systems.
- Familiarity with naval maintenance standards and protocols, including SUBSAFE, DSS-SOC, FBW SCS, and Level 1 requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience using government applications like Business Office, MRQT, and MAT for reporting and material tracking.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
