RTM Law, APC is looking for a motivated, curious, and proactive addition to our growing team in our Santa Ana office. We are looking for Paralegals to work closely with the principal attorney in assisting our clients. If you think you think you would like to be part of a team with the above values, the job position duties include:
- Draft legal documents, formal discovery requests, notices, interrogatories, motions, and deposition summaries.
- Assist in locating and contacting witnesses, arranging interviews and evaluations, drafting witness declarations, preparing pretrial statements, and preparing witness testimony.
- Compile and organize trial notebooks, exhibits, and files; coordinate witness scheduling; assist attorneys with witness issues, exhibits, and note-taking during State Bar trials.
- Draft formal discovery requests and responses, including special interrogatories, requests for admissions, production demands, deposition notices, and motions to compel.
- Analyze records and disciplinary files, making recommendations to attorneys regarding file disposition.
- Perform legal research, including statutory and case law research; draft forms, research memoranda, proposed rules, orders, and other documents.
- Prepare summaries of depositions, court transcripts, and witness testimony.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for efficient case management.
- Perform other similar or related duties consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the law firm.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the position’s functions and responsibilities.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a paralegal.
- Basic principles, concepts, and methodologies of legal proceedings and research.
- Ability to acquire a working knowledge of State Bar Law, Rules of Conduct, and procedures during the introductory period as applicable to major duties and responsibilities.
- Understanding of attorney-client relationships relevant to the position.
- Principles of legal writing.
- Skills in problem identification, analysis, and evaluation.
- Effective writing and verbal presentation skills.
- Competency in business math for non-technical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Familiarity with computerized information and database record-keeping systems.
- Proficiency in computer information systems, including personal computer applications, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of computerized legal research systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
