QUALITY INSPECTOR II - WEEKEND SHIFT w/GENEROUS WAGE DIFFERENTIAL
Qualified Production and Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services, serving the semi-conductor, life science and other industries. We have 3 facility locations, all located in Oregon. Our Hillsboro location provides contract manufacturing services for machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities. Our Tualatin location focuses on prototyping, allowing us to take a product from the prototype through production. Our Cornelius facility provides precision sheet metal manufacturing, rounding out our ability to provide best in class integration services to our customer base.
POSITION SNAPSHOT
Under general supervision, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that products meet established standards and specifications. You will be responsible for inspecting, testing and evaluating materials, components and finished parts throughout the production process. This position involves a high level of responsibility and expertise, and requires a deeper understanding of quality control and advanced inspection techniques.
This position is part of our Inspection team that provides company-wide service and support. Generally, our Quality Inspectors are assigned to a specific location, but may be assigned to other locations as needed. The weekend shift is assigned to Hillsboro.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and tools to perform detailed inspections.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and solve quality problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase product quality and efficiency.
- Generate inspection reports and communicate findings to relevant departments.
- Identify and document non-conforming products or materials.
- Measure parts efficiently and effectively, manually on granite rock.
- Maintain quality records and assist in the preparation of reports for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
- Review acceptance criteria defined by Manufacturing or by customer documents to ensure appropriate inspection methods and to identify and document any drawing / specification errors.
- Compile and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to customers for approval.
- Assist Quality Manager in defining and executing internal audits to ensure compliance to QMS.
- Assist Quality Manager in activities related to external customer or external audit agency visits to Manufacturing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 12 hours per day.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector in a production environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in taking manual measurements on granite rock.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools (calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.)
- Demonstrated skills identifying, measuring, and managing product Key Characteristics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) guidelines and practices.
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with internal and external representatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of positions within the company. Tactfulness, professionalism, a team orientation and diplomacy with a problem solving approach are essential.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions independently.
- Must be methodical, thorough and have strong attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating with internal and external customers.
- Lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Coordinate Measuring Machine skills (CMM) are a plus but not required.
