Job Summary
We are seeking a Materials Planner to manage the inventory supply levels for our manufacturing operations. In this role, you are responsible for forecasting our supply needs and ensuring we always have materials on hand. This position focuses on vendor management, as you must source the fabricated and raw materials we need to produce products. Your duties will involve negotiating contracts with suppliers, submitting purchase orders, and expediting orders when necessary. Coordinating with operations, engineering, manufacturing and oversight of the production schedule are key components of this position.
You should be familiar with NetSuite software.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Forecast supply needs for a given period based on orders on hand
- Negotiate contracts with vendors
- Ensure materials meet specifications
- Inventory Control
- Order supplies so manufacturing can continue without interruption
- Organize the production floor work flow
- Expedite orders when supplies are low
- Adjust order sizes as needs fluctuate
Requirements and Qualifications
- Supply chain and vendor management experience
- Strong negotiation and forecasting skills
- Understanding of SoldWorks and BOM’s
- Familiarity with NetSuite software
- Experience with ERP implementation is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
