Education/Training: MBA/MHA w/concentration in Healthcare , Masters prepared Social Worker or graduate of an accredited nursing program. (MSN Preferred).
Licensure/Certification: Illinois RN license (if applicable).
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years' experience in psychiatric setting with ability to evaluate consumer records; experience in quality review activities in an acute care setting REQUIRED. Minimum of two (2) years' supervisory experience REQUIRED.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Advanced knowledge in behavioral health, psychiatric illness, and inpatient care.
· Proficient in problem solving, critical thinking, written and verbal communication, interpersonal relationships.
· Proficient in project improvement strategies aimed at improving outcomes.
· Thorough knowledge of data collection, aggregation, statistical analysis, and use of statistical display tools.
The Director of Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement oversees and coordinates risk management, quality, and performance improvement activities in the department. Serves as a liaison to administration and uses data-driven informed decision making to mitigate risk for patient safety and ensure the provision of quality care is monitored and continuously improved upon. Core functions include, but are not limited to:
- Coordination of regulatory-required quality activities including HBIPS, MIPS, B-Tags, and Medical Record documentation requirements.
- Facilitation of the Medical Executive Committee in coordination with the Chief Medical Officer to include management of OPPE/FPPE and Peer Review activities for medical staff.
- Lead survey activities and performance improvement projects to align with expectations of The Joint Commission, CMS, IDPH, Department of Health and Human Services, Payers, and Customers.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and oversight agency requirements.
- Chair Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee Meeting.
- Reporting trends and variations to leadership, the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees.
- Coordination of the facility-wide Performance Improvement Program.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and cross-discipline collaboration to improve patient safety.
- Provide facility-wide support in establishing best practices based, relevant quality indicators and data analysis.
