We are seeking driven early career engineers (BS or MS) to help grow our Upstream riser design and analysis practice. SES provides a broad range of specialized design and analysis services to numerous industries. This person will focus on offshore structures and provide technical expertise in the areas of subsea well systems, drilling (marine) risers, intervention/completion risers, and various types of production riser assets. The Riser Analysis Engineer would perform dynamic structural and component finite element analysis to ensure acceptable structural and fatigue performance of the systems designs. A strong balance of technical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze offshore riser systems, subsea structures, and components using fundamental techniques, finite element analysis, and state-of-the-art commercial/in-house (global analysis) software

Support Project Managers to meet project goals/deliverables and communication with clients

Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and technical reports

Assist with internal R&D initiatives as needed

Stay informed regarding new technologies and improvements in industry to maintain proficiency

Adhere to internal quality management system policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Have a BS or MS, in Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related engineering discipline

At least 1 to 5 years of experience working as an analysis engineer, preferably in the field of offshore oil and gas

Strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, physics, and structural dynamics

Background and interest in computational modeling and simulation

Ability to balance engineering judgment with business priorities and constraints to deliver high-value work products

Ability to research and develop sound technical solutions and skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical problems to people familiar with and unfamiliar with the technical details
