The Western Panhandle Early Steps is accepting applications for Florida Licensed Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, & Speech Therapy Independent (1099) Providers to serve infants & toddlers birth to three years old in Escambia, Okaloosa, Walton & Santa Rosa Counties. Candidates can choose to serve 1 county or multiple counties. Services are delivered in the child's natural environment and therapists work as a multidisciplinary team member by collaborating with families/caregivers, Service Coordinators, & other professionals to develop & implement the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
Essential Functions:
- Build rapport with families & team members
- Participate in curriculum based developmental assessments for eligibility determination
- Conduct therapy evaluations & develop Plans of Care
- Assist in the development of functional outcomes & goals on the child's Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP)
- Communicate with families about their child’s development, strengths & needs
- Assist families with embedding functional strategies into their daily routines & activities
- Monitor & adjust strategies to meet the child & family’s changing needs
- Participate in collaborative team meetings & consultation relating to the child's outcomes, goals, & IFSP
- Maintain up-to-date files/charts (written &/or electronic) for the purpose of ensuring alignment with specific program requirements.
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient & effective team.
Early Steps credentialing requirements:
- Submit Resume & Early Steps Application
- Completion of Early Steps Attestation Checklist
- Copy of Professional License
- Ability to confirm one year post graduation experience with children birth through four years old
- Enrollment with Florida Medicaid in provider's named discipline
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number
- Enrollment with Medicaid for Early Intervention (EI) Medicaid Number
- Current Professional Liability Insurance
- Documentation of clearance on a Level II FBI background screening within the last five years
Requires Ability to:
- Complete Early Steps Attestation Checklist for credentialing & approval
- Complete required local Early Steps training requirements
- Submit & adhere to Provider Agreement requirements per local, state and federal policy
- Pass Level II Background Screening
- Apply for Early Intervention Medicaid number
- Enroll with & bill Region 1 Managed Care Medicaid Plans
- Enroll with & bill Private Insurance Panels
- Independently bill the local Early Steps office services provided
- Travel between various locations
- Work independently as well as a team member
- Set up a home office & maintain supplies
- Independently manage & maintain caseload & schedule
- Appropriately interact & communicate with individuals from various cultural & socio-economic backgrounds
- Maintain accuracy & confidentiality with all correspondence & records

Early Steps is Florida’s Part C Early Intervention system that offers services to eligible infants & toddlers birth to thirty-six months who are at risk for or show developmental delays. Early Intervention is designed to support children & families in their daily routines as this is where children play & learn. Our program strives to support families & caregivers in focusing on the skills they already possess to help their child learn & develop.
