Heart Care Centers of Illinois, a multi-site network of cardiovascular providers, currently has an opening for a Registered Nurse with a proven track record of adaptability, initiative, and teamwork who will be responsible for the day to day nursing operation at one of our our busy clinics. In this role, the RN will:
- Triage patient telephone calls which includes ranking patient health problems according to their urgency, educating and advising patients, and making safe, effective, and appropriate dispositions to help determine what type of care is needed; advise physicians as required.
- Review testing results for accuracy and physician review/signature; apprise patients of testing results after physician review, educate patient on results and assist patient with any additional follow-up required per physician orders.
- Schedule procedures/testing (i.e. cardiac caths) for assigned physicians, including getting insurance pre-authorization as required by insurance companies. Supervise on-site patient stress testing as required by HCCI procedures and protocols.
- Document patient visits in EMR system
- Cross-train in Coumadin Clinic nursing and fills in as needed; assist Clinical Site Manager in other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and current IL RN licensure
- Minimum of 1.5 years nursing experience required, preferably in private practice specializing in cardiology and/or hospital experience in an ER/ICU/Tele
- Excellent relationship development skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
