Job Description
- Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Texas Teaching Certification in EC-6 {REQUIRED}
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years successful grade level teaching experience
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of all core academic subjects
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Use of technology to promote oral communication skills
- Respond to individual student's needs by providing focused instruction per subject
- Select and use instructional materials and strategies that promote the students’ development
Specific duties include but not limited to:
- Willingness to facilitate a project-based learning approach to learning
- Being an integral part of a collaborative learning community with a growth mindset
- Demonstrating a high level of responsiveness to student needs including the implementation of differentiated teaching strategies
- Creating a classroom environment centered around a variety of learning areas and engaging activities
- Managing student behavior in a manner that optimizes the learning environment and develops student ownership
- Ensuring the safety of each student by supervising and engaging in lunch, and transitions between classrooms
- Maintaining regular communication with students and their parents regarding progress
- Working cooperatively with grade-level teachers to integrate instruction
- Willingness to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, the community, and administrative staff
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
