Specific Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Revenue Accounting team, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Perform advanced revenue accounting functions related to Apache domestic oil and gas properties, including but not limited to, contractual volume allocation, revenue valuation and actualization.
- Handle and respond to payout audits, inquiries, and metrics.
- Assist with severance tax payments, filings, inquiries, and reports.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to assigned properties.
- Correspond with production, land, marketing, and owner relations departments to ensure proper accounting of assigned properties.
- Work on special projects as requested by management.
- Interface with multiple groups and individuals, both internal and external to Apache Corporation. Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours.
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation, data manipulation, data summarization, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge and experience with SAP a plus.
- Revenue accounting knowledge and experience a plus.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to take initiative, self-manage, and work independently with high productivity.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with others in a team environment.
- Proven ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and changing environments. Competencies
