Senior Geospatial Analyst
Description:
- Conduct research to identify traditional and non-traditional raster/vector sources for GEOINT analysis and production.
- Using GEOINT data science principles and associated competencies, evaluate discovered data’s structure, content, and attribution to determine suitability for GEOINT analysis and production.
- Observe data management best practice by ensuring raster/vector data are contained in geodatabases wherein features and attributes adhere to a defined schema that meets applicable standards and policies.
- Extract, derive, or synthesize feature/attribute data conforming to applicable National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) standards, U.S. Marine Corps policies, and accepted best practices.
- Apply spatial-temporal reasoning, GEOINT processing and methodologies, and other associated competencies to perform GEOINT analysis, characterize events, and discover relationships/trends in the following domains: terrain and imagery analysis, littoral analysis, and human geography.
- Perform GEOINT analysis and present results in the form of datasets, cartographic products, and other advanced visualizations (e.g., web mapping/story maps).
- Apply cartographic principles, and other relevant competencies to produce both hard- and softcopy cartographic products that meet applicable NSG policies and product specifications, Marine Corps standards, and accepted best practices.
Job Requirements:
Desired experience:
- At least 12 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
Desired education:
- Master’s Degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education: or have a bachelor’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related Senior experience for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the master’s degree.
Security Clearance:
- Security clearance required TS/SCI with CI POLY or the ability to obtain CI POLY.
