Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team in Southwest Ohio. As an Employment Specialist, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and resources to individuals seeking employment and career development opportunities. Your role will involve educating and mentoring clients, assisting with job search activities, and advocating for individuals with disabilities.
Duties:
- Conduct one-on-one sessions with clients to assess their career goals and develop personalized action plans
- Provide guidance on resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, and professional networking
- Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and facilitate job placements for clients
- Assist clients in identifying their strengths, skills, and interests to align with suitable career paths
- Advocate for individuals with disabilities to ensure equal employment opportunities
- Stay updated on industry trends and labor market information to provide accurate and relevant career advice
- Collaborate with other professionals such as vocational rehabilitation counselors, teachers, social workers, and addiction counselors to provide comprehensive support.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree preferred; High School Diploma required
- Proven experience in career coaching or related fields such as workforce development or recruiting
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and employers
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in conducting interviews, assessing skills, and providing feedback
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
